Lemon Water- More Benefits?

Drinking water is a great way to stay hydrated. It’s recommended to drink about 8 glasses a day for you to get the quantity that your body needs to continue to work the right way. These days, you’ll see a lot of restaurants serve lemon water. It’s becoming more and more popular everyday and for good reason.

Lemon water is just regular water with lemon added into it. This makes it very high in vitamin c. According to Medical News Today, because lemon water is high in Vitamin C, it has a compound called flavonoids. This has anti-inflammatory effects to reduce cell damage. Reducing cell damage can then reduce the risk of many health conditions like:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Obesity
  • Diabetes

Another good thing about lemon water is the amount of acid it has. The acid in our stomach is what helps break down the food we eat. When we age, those acid levels that are already present begin to decline. Drinking more lemon water will present more acid into your stomach and help you digest the food you’re eating. Not only does it aid in digestion but it also helps prevent kidney stones.

Not only does it do all of that but it also provides the same benefits as drinking regular water! Water is a great source of hydration that is recommended by many people. If you don’t drink the amount of water that is recommended per day, you could become dehydrated. Not only is this common but it can also bring on many unpleasant symptoms. Some of them may include headaches, dizziness, and even fatigue. Make sure you drink your water!

Another great benefit of water is how it can be positive to your skin. Think of your skin as an organ. With it being the largest organ in the body, it means it’s made up of a lot of water. This means that it also needs a lot of water to make sure it stays healthy. Everyday our body is losing large amount of water meaning that we need to replace it. When you drink water, it helps decrease wrinkles, improve complexion, reduce puffiness, and even heal faster.

Wait, the benefits don’t end there. One of the biggest benefits of water is how it not only clears acne but also it can also help slow down aging. It makes our skin plumper which helps hide the signs of aging that are currently happening. This means that a lot of the wrinkles that you may have at the moment will be minimized. With slowing down the aging process, it can also improve the elasticity of it. This can help with tightening the skin, giving off a younger appearance.
