Can Working Out Cause Acne?

It’s not a secret that our skin is the largest organ that our body has. With that being said, it’s important that we take care of it as best as we can. That means making sure that we take part in the right skincare routines and even staying up till the early mornings reading about everything we can on skincare. Well, either that or you can just continue reading our article.

While skincare is a very important part of a healthy lifestyle, another one is exercise. You’ve heard many times that you should always stay active in order to be completely healthy. That is right.  When you exercise a lot you’ll notice that you start to sweat a lot. Why would we bring this up/ well, sweating can have some positive and negative effects on your skin.

We know that you’re probably surprised that it can do any good but let’s explain. According to Stryx, sweating can provide the skin with some good benefits. When your body regularly works up a sweat, it is able to cool your skin down and even moisturize your pores naturally. Not only that but it’s also said to have anti aging properties. Who would’ve known! The only thing that you have to remind yourself is to wash your skin after!

Not washing your skin and keeping it clean after a workout is when things will take a turn for the worst. Keeping the sweat on your skin or even not washing your face before working out can have bad effects. This is because sweating can trap the dirt and oil that your skin has. If you’re sweating on top of the dirt and oil that’s already there, this will make it harder to have healthier skin.

In addition to making sure you wash your face before and after a workout, you can practice clean habits at the gym. When you get to the gym there have been many people that have used the machines before you. This means that all the dirt and oil that they transferred on the machine could still be there. Wiping down the machines could prevent future breakouts.

Here’s the difficult part about sweating. It can do both good and bad to your skin. The only difference is how you treat your skin before and after you sweat. For example, sweat can also help your acne if you go about it the right way. Sweat is a good way to remove the dirt and debris from your skin. The only reason it all gets trapped is when you don’t wash it off. If you leave the sweat on your skin then it will get absorbed back into your skin, taking all the dirt that it has with it.

Sweat pimples can really put a damper on our confidence. A great way to get rid f them to is to practice the right skincare and hygiene. Another one is with our services! At YMD we have Hydrafacials for our customers. This is a great way to make sure your ski is clean, smooth, and moisturized. Not only that but it will help with decreasing some of the signs of aging so that you can walk out with confidence.
